Summit success for Slovakian alpinist Peter Hámor

August 20, 2012

The all-star Slovakian alpinist Peter Hámor conquered his 10th eight-thousander when he successfully climbed K2 in early August. That puts him in line as a top candidate to summit all 14 8,000-meter peaks. On May 17, 2012, he climbed Kanchenjunga (8586 m/28,169 ft) -- the only one to accomplish that feat this year. Following that, he returned to K2 (8611 m/28,251 ft), where five years ago he had to turn back short of the summit at just over 8,000 meters. This time he found success: On Aug. 1, 2012, Peter Hámor reached the summit of K2. The Katadyn Group supports the dedicated mountaineer with freeze-dried food from Trek’n Eat as well as with the complete nutritional supplement Peronin.
